I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Rocky's Story...
I’m Rocky, the hard luck guy from last year’s Bowl-A-Rama. After ACL surgery and a long rehab and recovery, I’m looking for my forever home. Maybe I could come snuggle up with you! I love to cuddle, play, lick, and will even sit up and beg for hugs! I like short walks, swimming, and having nice, long conversations with you. Yes, I’m a talking dog. As long as you understand Golden Retriever, that is!
I’m about 7 years old and I know sit, down, and will even come most of the time. I get really excited when the doorbell rings and when I meet new people, I’m just so happy to meet them that I forget myself and jump up to say hello. I’m nervous about a few things like wind and thunder but I know I’m not the only dog who becomes anxious about those things. So you’ll have to have the patience to work with me on a few things. But I will definitely reward you with all of my affection and I am very affectionate! I can run and play and go for walks now. I like to swim and to play catch. If you have older kids (teenagers) who can handle my exuberance, I’d be their best pal. I really want to be part of an active family.
I can be a little stubborn once in a while. (Remember, I’ve been through a LOT.) I don’t know about cats, but I get along with some other dogs as long as they aren’t aggressive and are really tolerant. I’d have to meet them to see. I don’t like anyone to mess with my toys. Would you be able to get my ball for me when it rolls under the furniture? I’d really like to meet you and your family. Maybe we could get together soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Scottsdale Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
