My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie is a middle-aged (5 to 7 years) girl who came to BHRG from the shelter in Murray County where she was finally turned in after being the pet of an alcoholic. She is a very happy basset - loves life and loves being around people and other dogs. Sometimes Sophie loves to curl up in a nearby corner; other times she likes to be right there where you can pet her. She seems to be housetrained and enjoys sleeping in the bedroom at night with her foster parents. Sophie enjoys lounging around and taking life easy. The vet said she weighs 94 lbs and MUST lose about half of that. Her foster family is working on her diet. For being heavy, she does manage to get around quite well. Sophie is mostly red & white with a few black hairs. She is very enthusiastic and very appreciative. She will make a great companion and is a joy to have around.
