My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.**

**Please take a moment to view the YouTube video with Tex in it (he is the second dog that the rehabilitator talks about, sometimes referred to as T-Rex, and he was identified as being from Dogs Deserve Better, but he is a Lucky Pup dog). Thanks!

Meet TEX! He is a beautiful Foxhound mix who is approximately 3 years old. He has had a long road behind him but all he cares about is having fun and looking forward to a new forever home! Tex is a happy, eager-to-please dog with a lot of energy to burn. One short walk a day is just not the exercise this boy needs! Someone who does weight pull, agility, flyball, or likes to jog, hike or bike and play ball and frisbee will be the right person to give Tex his happy ending. He is being fostered where he has a ready-made pack of canines to play play play! Once he has had that play time, he will snuggle up for a good nap. He is fine with cats, which is unusual for a hound dog! What he loves most, however, is his people. He really enjoys people of all ages but can be exuberant so he might knock over a small child in his excitement.

Tex graduated from an obedience class (and was the star!) and knows sit, lie down, wait, leave it and paw. He is a very food/treat motivated dog and will do just about anything for a cookie! He enjoys his walks and hikes with a Gentle Leader harness and would make a fantastic running partner, with plenty of energy to keep up with the best runners!

Tex listens well and knows his basic commands. His current foster feels that Tex's potential is boundless and that he could handle any task he was trained for. He is an energetic boy, but by day's end, Tex is tired and goes to sleep very quickly! He has a wonderful spirit and is an intelligent, curious dog. He loves chew toys and could play with a ball for hours! He does well in group settings and is a faithful companion to his people. He is a love of a dog and just wants attention and a safe and happy home where there would be someone home to keep him company more often than not.

If you think that you the person that Tex has been looking for, please visit our web site here to find out about our adoption process.

Thanks so much for considering rescue!
