Dixie's Story...
We know, we know - the thought of a Blue Heeler/Chihuahua mix gets a puzzled look from most people. It's hard to picture what one might look like. Well, pictured here is the result: a cute-as-a-button, delightful little girl named Dixie. Dixie's father is a Chihuahua and her mom is a Blue Heeler. Dixie was born around the first of Feb. 2006. She weighs about 20# currently, but still has some growing to do. Dixie loves to play and especially LOVES TO SWIM. She would enjoy being in a home where there is a pool. Just like most puppies, Dixie likes to play hard and sleep hard. The Heeler side of her tends to be the most dominant. Heelers (Australian Cattle Dogs) are herding breeds and are ordinarily not ideal choices for families with young children, because they tend to see them as subordinates. Dixie would do best in a home with experienced dog owners (teens and older) who will continue the obedience training at home that Dixie has already begun. She is a very smart girl who needs the structure of a stable home environment, where she knows what the rules of the house are. She is used to spending a lot of time indoors, so she already has started off on the right foot (paw?). Dixie has so much potential to learn and she will bring a lot of joy and fun to her new family. Dixie is spayed, current on shots and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Our adoption fee is $150. If you would like to give this lovely girl a forever home to call her own, please complete our online application today:
