Churchill's Story...
A rescue volunteer received a call that a mama dog had some puppies under an abandoned house. Rescuers decided that they would have to saw a hole in the floor to get to the puppies but the mom & pups were out somewhere. Later rescuers found out that 2 puppies had been run over and the other 4 were not to be seen. Only this puppy was found and saved. He can be seen at the Petco store in South County off of Telegraph Road in the Walmart shopping center on Saturday and Sunday (except 9-11-2010 - hes getting neutered this day) from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On weekdays you can call the shelter after 12 noon to schedule an appointment to come and meet him. The shelters phone number is 636-629-8781. His adoption fee is $175.00

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Churchill, a Lonedell Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Lonedell, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Lonedell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lonedell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lonedell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lonedell paves the way for another one to be saved.
