Lenny's Story...
Please contact Courtesy Listing for more information about this pet.

DO NOT contact PAWS about Lenny, please!!!!! He is a Courtesy Listing and NOT fostered by PAWS.  Instead, contact Carol at carol@paws4you.org.

Lenny is a 95 pound, one year old Great Dane mix (born summer 2009). He is a very handsome dog that enjoys going for long walks and playing in the grass with his toys (especially his stuffed penguin!).  He is fostered in the Miami area.

Great Danes combine robust strength with a refined dignity. In the home and around the yard, you’ll find them uniquely gifted with mental and physical strengths. Truly gentle giants, Great Danes are loving, affectionate and pleasant companions that like nothing better than to hang around the house with the family. In fact, they crave companionship and need to be around people to feel settled and secure.

Brave and loyal, they make great watchdogs in spite of the fact that they don’t bark very much. They will bark, however, if an intruder enters the house, but it’s their size and strength that will be most intimidating.

Great Danes are great with children. Some may need a firm hand—simply because their size can be a little unwieldy around the house—but once trained they can be steady and dependable pets.

Lenny is very smart, happy and enjoys being included in family activities. He was a star student at his training lessons!

PAWS has listed this dog on our site at a vet's request. Here is what she had to say about Lenny's situation:

The rescue that I work with here in Miami has a Great Dane mix that never gets any interest because he is bigger than most dogs.  Could you crosspost him on your website? He did have knee surgery less than 1 year ago but he seems fine to me.  He likes to walk around with a big stuffed animal in his mouth.  Right now he is at their retreat in a big run because there is no foster home for him.

Please tell your friends about Lenny and let's find him a forever home!!
