I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.
Pepper is a 5 month old black lab/golden retriever mix pup whose family couldn't keep her so she is in foster care at a hobby farm where she is enjoying life. Pepper currently weighs 41 pounds and according to our age & growth chart she will be 65 to 70 pounds full grown. Her breed mix gives her a wonderful temperament--she loves kids, dogs, cats and everyone she meets. Pepper is house trained when let out regularly and behaves well in the house. She will enjoy a home with some children and someone home much of the time to continue her socialization and ongoing training. Pepper is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Her $250 adoption fee covers her spay, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, flea/tick prevention and HomeAgain microchip.
