Marty's Story...
Marty—approximately 3-year-old male neutered Maine Coon brown tabby male. Marty is a very sweet, mellow cat. He loves attention and will snuggle with anyone who returns his affections. This handsome boy was hit by a car in June 2010 and suffered head trauma. He had one eye removed as well as a jaw fracture repaired. He was fed by stomach tube for 3 weeks while his jaw healed, and is now able to eat on his own. Though he hit a little rough patch, he has recovered beautifully and is now seeking a home where he can relax and enjoy spending time with a family of his own. He needs to be an indoor-only cat and have a family that will help him around as his one remaining eye has limited vision, though he is able to see fairly well. Whether he will regain full vision in that eye remains to be seen, but he is able to get around his foster home unassisted. Please contact us if you would like to meet this lover boy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marty, a Elverta Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Elverta, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Elverta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elverta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elverta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elverta paves the way for another one to be saved.
