My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zapper is a black male, nearly 3 and 1/2. He is new to rescue.
They call me Zapper. I’m a long, lean fella without a shy paw to my name, and I enjoy the company of other dogs. While I was at the veterinarian’s getting snipped, I unlocked my cage and roamed around the clinic during the night. Naturally I anointed everything that was vertical, so I imagine the mopping crew was very busy the next morning. During my wanderings, I came across multiple kitties that live at the clinic roaming free but we gave each other space so there were no confrontations. I think I just might be cat tolerant. I’m settling in at the Greyt Hacienda and really enjoy snoozing on the raised beds draped with a cozy blanket hand made by our kennel angel, Liz. But I sure look forward to a couch to watch Monday night football. Hey, football fans, do you have room for one more in your family?

FOSTER UPDATE:

Zapper is zipping along beautifully and enjoys following his foster guardians from room to room. The family kitten, however, not so much, as he’s snapped at it several times when kitty came too close. Well mannered and friendly with strangers, Zapper is learning how to ride in the car and enjoys the doggie park. When left alone, Zapper will whine a little but is not destructive so he is not crated. He barks very little except when foster mom swims laps and the splashing scares him but, loud noises in general, he ignores. Zapper is housetrained with no doggie door and is a gentleman on the leash. He knows the commands: Come, Lie Down and Shake hands, and comes when he’s called. Zapper is a healthy, delightful fur companion who loves squeaky toys, plays well with other dogs, handles grooming well, and enjoys greeting the neighborhood kids.

Zapper had an adoption pending.
