Ally (& Axl)'s Story...
Axl & Ally are mother and son. Axl, the son, is 6 going on 7, and Ally is mama 7 going on 8. Hard to talk about them as individuals since they've been together all their lives (well all of Axl's life anyway).

Their human dad was elderly and passed away. The remaining family currently have 4 dogs and 2 of their dogs have to be separated at all times because they fight. So they have to segregate their own and are unable to take on two more. Soooo Axl & Ally have been boarded since their dad passed away.

They are both super-lovable affectionate and friendly dogs. Hard to get pictures because they just want to cuddle up with whatever human is close by. We would like them to stay together. I know this usually
makes the people feel better, not necessarily the dogs, but Axl IS very attached to his mom. We don’t don't believe Axl would adjust to new home without his mom. So we honestly believe for their sake, like to see them stay together. Plus, they're so easy, well behaved, walk great together and everything. Can't imagine, even an elderly person, not being able to handle them both.

They are fully vetted. Ally is Spayed and Axl is Neutered. Don't know about crate training, but they're kenneled together at the vets. Wouldn't crate them separately. They tested heartworm positive (light)
when their dad died. We've had them on the slow kill and will restest in the next month or so. Family is willing to cover additional treatments if needed. Vet recommends waiting till results of slow kill is done and they're settled into a foster/forever home before any follow-up treatments. Other than that, they're both very healthy, no hip issues or arthritis. Wouldn't believe their age. They're mellow and laid back,
much like the mature labs, but still have allot of puppy enthusiasm for human companionship and attention.

They get along great with other dogs. Axl, though is intimidated by dominant or aggressive dogs. Don't know about cats. And older kids okay, but no young kids.

These sweet babies love people and would forego food, treats, toys, all of that, just to be with you. If you think you could give these sweet babies the forever home they deserve for the rest of their life – please email us at for an application. Their adoption fee together is $400.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ally (& Axl), a Nanuet Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Nanuet, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Nanuet.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nanuet already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nanuet breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nanuet paves the way for another one to be saved.
