Meow! My name is Creamy
|Breed:||Domestic Shorthair||Color:||Tan Or Fawn||Age:||Adult|
I am already neutered and up to date with shots.
Creamy's current photo is the one in the tiger bed. He has trimmed down considerably from the other picture, since he spent a long summer in a shelter boarding situation. He is a lucky surviver from a notoriously bad N.C. shelter where the adoption rate is miserably low, but he made it out thanks to a new, hardworking rescue group in the area, and we took a few here in Petersburg to help them out. Creamy is adorable, sweet, quiet, tidy and smart; he doesn't get into trouble or tear anything up. He loves a plush bed, looking out the window, and food, of course! But we're taking care not to overfeed him, and he has been enjoying his Nutro weight control food but actually doesn't make a pig of himself -- his former owners probably fed him badly, because he's looking so much better now! What a sweet boy who has been through so much -- he'll be so grateful to have a nice home with people to love him his whole life.

Cat Rescue, Inc., saves cats slated for euthanasia at overloaded shelters. No cat is adopted out prior to spay or neuter. The home organization is based in Chesapeake, managing the pet center in the Petsmart at Greenbrier Mall, Chesapeake. Adoptions number approximately 500 per year. We are a 501(c)(3)nonprofit, ALL VOLUNTEER, home foster based, no-kill organization. All donations and contracts paid are submitted to the director of Cat Rescue, Inc., in Chesapeake, Va., and are applied to food and medical needs of cats and kittens under the organization's care. The organization is committed to accepting any cat adopted from us if the owner for any reason has to give up the cat, for the rest of the cat's life; in effect, we provide a "life insurance" policy for these cats so that they never have to end up on "death row" in a shelter again.
(PayPal donate button on Web page) Mailed donations should be addressed to: Cat Rescue, Inc., 1917 Benefit Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322
CRI Petersburg manages the pet center at the Colonial Heights Petsmart. We respond to the store immediately for adoption interest, and we're also on station every Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. Please call to confirm and to ensure the cat you want to see will be at the store that day, since we don't bring all the cats. We normally have cats no younger than six months old. All are spayed/neutered and have distemper and rabies shots, are wormed and tested for feline AIDS and leukemia. As a home-based foster organization, the cats are treated as companion pets. All food and medical bills are paid by the foster family without reimbursement, so adopters are assured that their adoption fees go toward the care and well-being of cats in the organization, many who have staggering medical bills, or who are unadoptable and must be cared for throughout their lifetime by the organization. In general, the basic cost of vetting a normal cat without medical issues is $200-300, so the $75 adoption fee is far below what has been invested in each cat.
Our contract requires: No declawing (toe amputation) and indoors only. You'll complete an adoption contract and questionnaire, and a Petsmart adoption form. The adoption process takes less than an hour and your new pet can go home with you same day. Cost of adoption: $75, cash only, completely tax deductible and a receipt will be supplied. If a pair are adopted, or a senior cat, a discount price will be available.
We are the Petersburg branch of Cat Rescue, Inc., which is based in Chesapeake, Va., serving the Petersburg-Fort Lee area. WE CAN ACCEPT NO CATS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC, only from shelters or as arranged by the director.
