Winnie's Story...
This sweet lil’ guy came to us after his family turned him into a shelter because they couldn't take care of him. We know he has a girly name but that’s what we are calling him because his owners called him that. His new owners should rename him with a name that sounds like Winnie since he seems to know his name. We fear his past owner didn’t even know his gender because he was so badly matted. Check out his before photo. Then look at his adorable after photos. Don’t you just want to adopt him and give him a much better life?

The first order of business when he arrived at a shelter was to give him a nice hair cut so we could see how gorgeous he was. And as you can see from the photos he's impossibly cute. He has the sweetest face and we think we're going to keep the short hair.

Even after possible neglect, Winnie has one of the sweetest personalities his foster mom has seen in a dog. He's energetic, loves his walks, stops to say hi to everyone to give kisses. He loves to play with the other dogs in the family and has settled in very happily. He even plays with cats and is very smart when he gets a 'no thanks' from them.

Winnie’s previous owners claim he was 4 years old but he still thinks he's a puppy, even though the shelter vet would have guessed he was a little older because of his neglected condition. He has so much love to give. He loves to follow his foster mom around everywhere. He loves to snuggle and get belly rubs and stares at you with those big brown eyes as if you're the coolest person around.

Winnie is working on his housebreaking habits which have already improved after just a few days. We think he is just adjusting to a new schedule and his new lifestyle. He was in a shelter for a while after being in a home where he appears to have been neglected.

Winnie does have a mild heart murmur that is commonly found in small dogs like him. It was graded a one out of six. He is not showing any signs of heart problems. His new owner should consult with Winnie’s new veterinarian on what steps to take next, if any. You can read a little about this on http://www.ehow.com/about_5427030_dog-heart-murmur-symptoms.html. We hope this won’t deter you from meeting Winnie because you will be missing out on a great dog. We’ve known many dogs a healthy life with murmurs graded more severe.

If you think Winnie is a match for your family please check out http://www.underdogresq.org/AdoptionCenter/AdoptionProcess.asp and complete Underdog ResQ’s adoption application while you are there. Winnie is being fostered in Boston.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winnie, a Framingham Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso for sale in Framingham, or seeking a Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Framingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Framingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Framingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Framingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
