My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bandit is about 1.5 years old. His owners had left him in the back yard to die when they moved out.
Bandit is very high energy, he doesn't run-----he flies. He will require a good run at the dog park every day. He loves children. If there's a child in the park he will find them. He also does well with other dogs He loves a good game of chase. He has several dogs chasing him all the time and none can keep up, and if they get near him he just jumps over them and keeps going.

He likes the water but hasn't quite mastered swimming yet. His new person will have to get him a life jacket if there near water because he's going in. He has chased my cat but never harmed her. She beats him up often. He will be very easy to train because his goal in life is to please. He cherishes me and I hate it that I can't keep him. I have 2 French Mastiffs who are getting up there in years and he worries them to death trying to get them to play. I do think he was physically abused. He's very cautious when adults approach him in the park. He got so hungry and thirsty that he finally escaped the back yard he was left in to die in. I saw him running down the street and tried to get him to come. He was terrified to say the least. A friend helped me trick him back into his yard so we could catch him. He was skin and bones and exhausted. After nipping at me several times he finally gave up. For two days he spent all his time trying to escape. Once I got him past feeling starved he started adjusting. The first trip to the dog park was very scary for the first 15 minutes, then he met his best friend Betty and came to life. He hasn't stopped playing since.

Whoever takes him will have to keep a close eye on him until he adjusts because he will try to run away. Also, it would be helpful if they understand the energy of this little guy. If he gets bored he will give himself a job. He will relocate things, throw rocks in the air and catch them, dig. He needs lots of toys and chew toys, and he wants to be near his person all the time. He likes to get behind my head when I'm in my recliner.

Bandit is also very healthy. No heartworms and all of his shots. He will come with a year supply of heartguard, a crate with his bed, and a little doggie coat to help him keep warm. He gets cold with the air conditioning. For information contact Bobby at mastiff_truck@yahoo.com
