Milo's Story...
Milo is a sweet and playful dog who loves giving kisses. He is energetic and loves going for walks. He is a doxie mix and 2 years of age. He is 12 pounds in weight. He only barks when excited. Milo is simply happy to be anywhere! He’ll hop around (he is missing his left back leg), play with toys, chase balls and snuggle up on the couch for an afternoon nap. It seems you could pet him for hours on end, then he will only look at you in despair when your hand goes numb. He apparently trained to do his business outside, but one or two accidents in the house was to be expected. He has a little trouble with the stairs, but we’re trying to coach him through it and we think he’ll get better in time once he builds a little more strength in the back leg.
He’s just a great well mannered little guy!

Please see our other available dogs at A Leg Up Rescue such as Possum or Max. A Leg Up Rescue must charge an adoption fee which is $200.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete our online adoption application, or please email aLegUprescue@me.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Milo, a petaluma Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in petaluma, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in petaluma.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in petaluma already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a petaluma breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in petaluma paves the way for another one to be saved.
