Porthos's Story...
Porthos and his brothers are sweet little boys whose Mommy was pregnant and rescued from life on the streets by a wonderful lady in Alabama. Their mama (Bama) gave birth to 5 puppies: 4 boys and 1 girl. Porthos is a happy, bouncy boy who loves to give kisses. He was born on July 13, 2010. Porthos and his siblings are being trained to use potty pads and newspaper at this time, and are starting to look for their very own forever homes. All the puppies are loving little ones and just love to be held and climb on their people. Porthos loves to be held close and snuggle under your chin. His nubby just wags and wags when he gives kisses. Porthos is eating dry food now and he has already been neutered, so he's ready for his new families to take him home. He is a Rattie mix puppy, and just as sweet and loving as you'd ever want a pup to be. Porthos has not been around small children or cats, but should do well with older children (who understand that small puppies sometimes nip when playing, and mean no harm). Porthos is starting to learn the "no bite" command, which his foster parents use when he nips them in play. Supervision between puppies and children is always recommended. Are you looking for a new furry family member? Do you have the time and love that training a small puppy takes? If so, then please apply today. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Porthos, a Jacksonville Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
