My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocko is a precious older guy. He is probably around 11 or 12 years old, and he does show some "wear and tear". His hind legs tremble a little, especially if he's anxious, and he is afraid that he is going to get dumped again. Rocko ran out of time at the humane society where he had been dumped for at least the second time in his life. The people who turned him in said that he was dumped on them, so Rocko has good reason to worry.
Now that Rocko has settled in at his fostermom’s home, he is starting to relax and has become a wonderful companion. Rocko follows his fostermom everywhere, and sleeps cuddled up next to her in bed. It won’t work to try and train this dog to not sleep on the bed; he will cry all night, so Rocko should go to someone who wants him to stay close to them. His fostermom can even garden outside and Rocko will never leave her side. He is also an accomplished lap dog, but if you absolutely cannot have him on your lap, he will sit quietly beside you until you can. Rocko has gotten used to his fostermom leaving him for the day for her new job, so he can function alone for awhile. He is perfectly house broken and uses the doggy door to go outside. He is not destructive in any way, and he gets along well with other dogs and even cats. Rocko was well trained at one time, and he knows basic obedience commands. He has very nice manners. Rocko likes kids if they are respectful of him, but he would be most content in a quieter home without a lot of confusion and chaos. Rocko was suffering from flea allergies when we got him, so he needs to be kept on flea prevention. He is in very good shape now. Rocko is a wonderfully sweet and gentle dog who just wants to be with you. He is very easy to live with and a joy to have around!
