I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Hey! What's up? My name is Sonic! My foster mum found me in the Sonic parking lot chasing the carhops, licking the back of their legs and begging for food from the picnic table eaters! Hence, my cool new name!
I am a very sweet and very playful Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I am up to date on my shots and already neutered. I can jump very high and will jump high enough to lick you in the face! Because of this I will need a home with a tall and secure fence. I sometimes don't walk very well on the leash but I am willing to learn! I am good while riding in the car, I will get right in the back seat and lie down.
I love squeak toys even though they don't last very long. I love all the attention I can get, I am told I am very outgoing. I do well inside as long as you are paying attention to me. If I get bored I will find something to keep me busy, and that's not always a good thing! I have also been working on my crate training. I enjoy my time outside in the sun as well. In fact there isn't much I don't enjoy about life in general.
I am very interested in cats, probably a little too interested, so I need to go into a home without a cat residing there. I get along with the dogs in my foster home. The older dogs get annoyed by me but the younger ones are great to play with! I have never been around kids but AAT thinks I would be okay in a home with OLDER children who could handle my exhuberant nature.
I am a guy who needs to keep busy and I will go full force all day! I do like to take a regular nap in the sunny spot on top of my dog house to refuel and get ready for more fun! Everyday after I eat I hide my food bowl, it's just a little game I like to play and I always hide it in the same place. I have also been known to bury things so I can dig them up and play with them later.
I am not at Sonic anymore but, I am still putting in my order for people who will love me, play with me, and keep me safe in a stable home. Can you fill that order for me?

Animal Allies of Texas is a 501(c)(3) animal advocacy/rescue organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Our goal is to build a no-kill shelter on enough land to house not only "adoptable" animals, but "treatable" ones as well - those who need medical care or behavior modification to become adoptable. While working toward this goal, we will also engage in community service and humane education projects to help bring about "humanity championed by thought."
We hold adoption events at one or more locations every week end. Please check the calendar on our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org for specific locations and times.
All potential adopters must submit an application, either online via our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org or a paper application at an adoption event. General requirements for adoption: You must live in the DFW/Ft. Worth/North Texas area - we do not adopt outside this area. Dogs must be primarily inside, and cats must be totally inside. Cats must not be declawed. All pets must be spayed/neutered if this has not been done prior to adoption. Adopter must agree to a home visit prior to adoption. Adopter MUST agree to return pet to AAT if he/she can no longer keep the pet or if AAT deems it to be in the best interest of the pet. An adoption agreement detailing these and other requirements must be signed to finalize adoption. Current fees are: dogs-$175, cats-$110. This covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchipping.
Animal Allies of Texas serves all cities and towns within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex (North Texas area). We restrict adoptions to these areas so that we can do home visits to ensure the best placement for all our animals.
