On July 2nd, Indy (short for Independence) was brought to our veterinary hospital after being hit by a car. As a result, his hind-end was paralyzed for several weeks. After a lot of loving care, he slowly began to heal and walk again. He is now walking on his own and is on the road to recovery. He still wobbles a little when he walks, but that doesn't slow him down one bit! Indy is a neutered male and we estimate him to be around 3-4 years old. He is also Heartworm Negative and up-to-date on his vaccines.
Indy is a very sweet dog. He loves people and wants to be right with you all the time. He was actually "adopted" for a day, but they had to bring him back because there was an elderly woman living in the home and they were afraid he was going to get under her feet and make her fall. But I'm sure with some training, he'll learn to stay out from underfoot. He seems like he would be easily trained too because he listens well. The people that took him said he was a great family dog and that he got along well with other dogs. He does have a lot of energy, so a big yard or someone who can take him on frequent walks would probably be best.
Indy is such a goofy, fun-loving dog. He is currently being boarded in Lodi, but he's won the hearts of everybody at the clinic and we hope that he will soon have a home and a family to call his own.
