Max's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Max's Story...
Two-year old Max is still very puppyish so he will need lots of strong chew toys until he matures some more. He is very dog-friendly and would love a home with at least one other dog. Max is very wary of men and small children - men just scare him and small kids move too fast and make strange noises that also scare him. When he is part of the pack his confidence raises and he will sometimes take treats from strangers, including men.

Max walks well on leash and would happily jog alongside an active owner. He knows ‘sit’ and ‘wait’ and is working on ‘down’ and ‘stay’. He really likes to go for walks and he rides well in the car - he will go to sleep as soon as the car gets going!

He loves to play with other dogs but does not yet know how to interact with people, such as playing ball. He is very submissive so he is fed in the kennel away from the others because he will give up his food with just a look or growl from one of the other dogs. Max loves belly rubs and affection. His new owner will have to give him time to learn to trust. He would bond with and trust women, but with men, it takes him a while. Max needs someone calm and patient. He does trust other dogs and runs to them for protection and guidance when he’s scared.

Max is up to date with shots, microchipped and heartworm negative. This sweet natured boy deserves a very special home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Houston Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bull Terrier for sale in Houston, or seeking a Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bull Terrier breeders who help with Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
