ELLIE's Story...
Ellie is a beautiful, sweet, blue merle Border Collie with one blue eye and one amber eye. She is still playful at 2 but will settle down nicely. She has a lot of toys that she is fond of and is beginning to get the idea of playing fetch. Ellie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is housebroken, knows how to use a doggie door and has no problem sleeping in a crate at night. I would not recommend a home with cats as she will most likely try to herd them. Also, because or her size, a home with children older than eight would be best. She rides in a vehicle nicely, preferably in a crate, as she does want to be in your lap. She will be a very loyal member of the family and will want to be with her humans as much as possible. Ellie has been spayed, is up to date on her vacs. and is microchipped. She is being fostered in East San Diego county.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ELLIE, a San Pedro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
