Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Keiko is a wonderful little dog! No, she's not a Lab, but when a friend's neighbor dumped her at the shelter, we couldn't leave her there. Keiko stands for "black and white" in Hawaiin, or so we are told. She was nicknamed by her foster home, who truly loves her and hopes she gets an amazing home.
Keiko is a 1-2 year old, 35 lb., Australian Shepherd/English Setter, Border Collie mix. With breeds like those, she was bound to be intelligent, loyal, and loving. Keiko is completely housebroken, crate trained, good on leash, pretty good off leash too, and knows her basic commands. Keiko loves to retrieve, and is a fast little dog. Because of her quickness and agile little body, we think she would be an amazing AGILITY dog! She pays attention and learns very quickly, and she loves to run and play.
Keiko does fine with other animals, but prefers the company to her human family and would be a perfect pet for a one pet home. She would be fine in a home with other pets, they would just need to be a little more patient and teach Keiko and their dog which toys are whose, and to let them get to know and respect eachother. All it takes is a little time, patience, and love! But, Keiko especially loves children as they have as much energy as she does and tend to keep up with her. Her favorite thing is to give kids a big kiss and then to run off and play tag with them!
If Keiko sounds like the perfect dog for your acitve family, or for your next agility dog, please go to www.utahlabrescue.com and fill out an online adoption application. Thanks!
