Cotton's Story...
Cotton is young boy about 1 year old and as you can see, very, very handsome. He was surrendered to a high kill shelter because instead of guarding the livestock, he would chase them. Imagine that, a young playful, energetic dog chasing chickens, cows, or whatever. Really? Regardless, he is now safe and looking to meet his new family. This boy is very lovable and cuddely and will melt your heart in an instant. We believe this boy is a lab/prynese/st.benard mix. But whatever he is mixed with, he is gorgeous and has an awesome temperment. He is currently in a foster home with young children and he does very well with them as they love all over him. He is a more submissive boy and gets along with all the other doggies just fine. He can be cat tested if needed, but our guess is that he will do just fine with the feline friends. He is crate trained, working on house manners and basic obedience skills. Cotton is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is kept on flea and tick, plus heartworm prevention. If you would like to adopt Cotton, please fill out an online application and request him on the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cotton, a Salem Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
