My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chelsea is a beautiful blond lab/golden/shepherd mix. She is just a little over 3 years old and a big girl at about 70 lbs. She was dumped at a shelter that sends their unclaimed dogs to a research facility. Chelsea is too sweet of a girl for that to happen too and she must have had a guardian angel watching over her, because Lucky Lab got a late night email about her going to research the next day and within less than 24 hours several dedicated volunteers joined together to get her out of the shelter and to our rescue. Chelsea is a big girl, but gentle for her size. She gets along with all of her foster brothers and sisters and even the kitty that hangs around. Two of her foster sisters are puppies and she is sooooo careful with them. She loves people and especially loves the hugs and the ‘good girl’ praise she gets. Chelsea’s favorite thing is to run around the yard and will run and run and run. She is having so much fun and will pick up a toy occasionally and swing it and toss it as she runs. After a good romp, she is ready to come in, crawls in her crate and takes a nap. Chelsea is a good girl, but does need some work on basic obedience and walking on a leash. She will learn quickly as she is very smart and eager to please and would most certainly be the star of the class.
Chelsea is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, micro-chipped and on flea preventative and heartworm preventative. She is a beautiful girl and would make a wonderful companion for any family. If interested in Chelsea, please indicate her in the notes section of the online application.
