My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi My name is sally. I am just about the most friendly girl you will ever meet in your life. I LOVE attention! I crave it. I am about 5-6 years old and I was found tied up on someone front porch. This person could not keep me so she contacted the rescue and they took me in. I get along great with everyone including all dogs big and small, cats and kids. I am happy to sit at your feet just so I can be by you. I love to go for car rides and be part of the family. I like to play, I know how to sit on command of course I do better with a treat in your hand! I also and please dont let this detour you, am called what is a "mild" heartworm positive. But it's ok! The vet said that Ill be fine and that I only need to be treated with a once a month heartguard plus because it has ivermctin in it to kill the heartworms. It will take awhile but I will still live live a healthy life like normal. If I was put through the full heartworm treatment that could be too detrimental at my age, so we opted for this way to treat it. If you have questions my dr would be happy to answer any for you at any time. She's really great and wants to see me go to a great home like everyone else here at the rescue. So please wont you give me a chance to be loved? I crave it so badly!

Adoption Fee is $ TBA

Adoption fee covers for our Adoption Package for dogs which includes: heart worm checked, treated for any fleas and worms, monthly heartworm medication, microchipped, up to date rabies vaccination, spayed/neutered, grooming, DHLPP vaccinations. Discounted 30 days of health insurance, and FREE basic & problem solving training before and after adoption if needed. Full health records are provided to the adopters. DISCOUNTED photo sessions for your dogs at www.saywoofphotography.com

The Adoption fee we ask of adopters is not to pay for the dog. The dog itself is free! The Adoption fee is used merely to reimburse our rescue for veterinary expenses that any responsible owner would spend anyway when bringing a new dog into their home. Howeverever if there are any funds left over from one dogs adoption fee, it is used to help the next dog that comes along. Sometimes FSFH's veterinarian expenses on one animal will be less than this fee, but another dog might require several hundred additional dollars worth of care. Without being able to recover at least the minimal veterinarian expenses on our dogs, FSFH could not continue to rescue. FSFH's fee does not cover the general cost of keeping a dog in rescue (food, equipment, etc.). FSFH relies solely on donations to cover all other expenses related to caring for their rescued dogs. Thank you for understanding.

If interested in adopting please go to www.fewstepsfromhome.com to get an application.

We also accept donations of dog food, cat food, cat litter, and large durable dog toys.
Vet care Donations needed also!
