Freeway in San Mateo's Info...
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Freeway is a darling Brussels Griffon with a harrowing story to tell!
He is one of those little dogs that you like the minute you lay eyes on him. Not only because he so cute with natural ears and tail, but because he is optimistic that life has better in store for him. Things have turned around for Freeway!
Freeway was picked up on the median of one of the busiest LA freeways during rush hour. He was covered in blood and fleas, and trembling with fright and pain, while traffic whizzed by at 80 mph - leaving Freeway no safe way out of his predicament. It was a miracle he was seen at all and rescued by some good Samaritans. Was he thrown from a car? Did he fall out of one?
If Freeway could only tell us how he ended up there!!
Fortunately, Freeway has made a full recovery suffering just a few bumps and bruises. He would love to have a home where he will be appreciated for the happy mellow little dog that he is. His foster dad says he is very, very smart and he learns extremely fast. He gets along well with everyone he meets, as well as with other dogs and older children too. He enjoys riding in the car, buckled in of course, and is a good passenger.
Freeway will need a securely fenced yard and would love to have a home where someone is there most of the time. Freeway is a Velcro dog that loves nothing better than being with the one he loves and trusts the most….YOU! He will work very hard to please that special person or family.
Freeway is neutered, up to date on vaccines, micro chipped, and housetrained. His heartworm test was negative and he is on prevention. Due to his circumstances, we aren’t sure of his exact age, but the vet thinks he is about 2 years old. He weighs 12 pounds and he is being fostered in the greater bay area of N. California.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get Freeway and that can only happen is he is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the adopter.
