Tipper's Story...
Hey, hey…You ever watch those after school special about abusive marriages, divorce, and the effect on the children? Well, that’s my story. Mom didn’t like dad’s old world ways (that’s our polite way of saying she left the bum!) so she left and I got stuck with no home…I am sweet and friendly, but haven’t been socialized very well…I also have a real good start on some basic training and housebreaking. …Maybe I could find a home that has other confident dogs, or children that are gentle and respectful. Or even a single person would be just fine as long as you’re willing to take me everywhere and show me how fun it is to be a social butterfly! I am young, ready to learn and happy to please. I just need you to understand that it may take a moment to warm up. ...but I promise to reward you in the end!!! 1 year old-50lbs-Labrador/Spaniel/Rottweiler mix. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; spay, microchip, reduced cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tipper, a Portland Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
