My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie Von Gartin is a very sweet longhair female dachshund. We call her Rosie Von Gartin because gartin is German for garden. Rosie is such a beautiful flower in our garden. Rosie has the most beautiful auburn red coat like you might see on an Irish Setter. Rosie has the most spectacular fluffy tail that we have ever seen on a longhair dachshund.
Rosie is five years old and has had a very stable life until recently. The family who relinquished Rosie loved her very much but had to move to an apartment and could not take their three dogs with them. They knew it would be impossible to place the 16 year old beagle mix but they were sure Southern California Dachshund Relief Inc. would care for Rosie and get her a great new home.
Rosie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and has a micro chip. Rosie Von Gartin is long, low and weighs only 11 pounds. Rosie is being very patient but she really wants a new family of her own. She is getting along nicely with the five other dachshunds in the foster home. She is ok with indoor cats but she will chase squirrels and cats in the yard. She likes kids and rides well in the car.
Rosie is very calm, friendly and is not a barker. She loves to get on your lap and snuggle up under your chin. She sleeps quietly in her crate all night long but would love to sleep in the big bed with her people. Rosie is house trained and does a cute little hoping dance when she needs to go out.
If you are looking for a sweet, calm, happy little female dachshund, Rosie could be your girl.
