Ana's Story...
I’m sweet, petite, and ready for adventure. I’m Ana. Yes, from time to time, a volunteer or two may think they’re humorous and even call me Ana Banana. My other nickname is “Squeaker” because of the funny squeaking noise I make sometimes. I can be rather silly. I just want to have fun, be loved, and find a home of my own. I came to Friends of Homeless Animals as a teenaged mom, rescued from a rural shelter when I was ‘out of time.’ I was very sick for a time, and I was lucky enough to stay at a great foster home for some extra-special TLC. I quickly showed my foster mom about my affinity for pets, my love of giving head-butts, and my propensity to rub up against you to say “love you!!!”

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ana, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
