Raceway's Story...
Raceway is a smaller greyhound girl at around 60 lvs. She is gentle, affectionate, and loves people. She will crawl up into your lap if you will let, not realizing that she does not exactly fit. She is developing nice house manners and gets along well with the other dogs and cats in her foster home. Raceway only competed in one race, and showed no affinity for being a professional athlete. She loves being with her people and really needs a person with her most of the time. We tried her in a home where the family was gone most of the day, and she showed separation anxiety, even with another greyhound with her. For this reason, we would like to find a home for Raceway where someone works from home or is retired and could be with her most of the time. Racey's $250 adoption fee includes her spay, teeth cleaning, all vaccines, microchip, leash and collar, adoption guide, grooming mitt, and a stuffie toy. For more information or to meet Raceway, please contact us at 813/272-2332 or through e-mail.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Raceway, a Tampa Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
