My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good Day to you. I am Callie, as I'm a California girl don’t ya know. I was rescued in Blythe, CA and the shelter contacted Arizona Basset Hound Rescue to take me in. This is the greatest thing that has happened to me in a while. I am currently undergoing an AZBHR Make-over. This has included a nail trim, some lump removals and an operation for cherry eye. I should be available for adoption around August 21st or so. I am a beautiful 8 years young, tri-colored female. I have a very mellow demeanor and enjoy the company of my people. I also get along just great with children as young as 18 months and of course I like other dogs too. I am a very low maintenance Basset, content to lie at my people’s feet (or in their lap if allowed). I would love to go for walks, and I walk well on my leash. I am doggie door trained and try very hard not to make mistakes inside the house. I do bark, but my foster mom thinks I have been “de-barked” as my voice is very small even though it sounds just like a Basset only softer.




My perfect forever family will have someone who is home most of the time (either retired or working from home) as I don’t care to be left alone too much. If there is a doggie door that would be good too.
