My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*******IMPORTANT****** IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ONE OF OUR DOGS PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AND FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. AFTER WE HAVE AN APPLICATION ON FILE WE WILL COMMUNICATE SPECIFICS ABOUT THAT PARTICULAR DOG. WE ARE A SMALL RESCUE, OVERWHELMED BY THE NUMBER OF DOGS WE HAVE IN OUR FOSTER PROGRAM AND ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER OR CALL UNTIL WE HAVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
Honey is a 6 year old former breeding dog who was sold to a family in Georgia after her usefulness was over. The "kennel" she came from has all the hallmarks of a puppymill. They boasted that Honey was able to free-whelp her pups.....LOVELY!!! ...most definitely a puppymill, why perform a c-section for the safety of the mother and pups when a free whelp is so much cheaper, afterall they're only making , at least $2500.00 on each pup. Honey was spayed prior to purchase but was left with a condition called vaginal prolapse. The owners were assured that the prolapse would get smaller with time. For 18 months, the family watched this mass and report that it did get a bit smaller. They never once took her to the vet for shots or further evaluation of this "prolapse" during that time.
Honey has been brought up to date and we have taken her to a surgical specialty clinic for evaluation. The vet believes that she has a tumor protruding from the vaginal area. She is scheduled for surgery in the next week.
She is a very sweet girl who loves interaction with humans. She isn't enjoying the company of other dogs at the moment. After she feels better and other dogs are less curious of the mass on her backend, we are hopeful she will have a better attitude.
Honey's surgery is very expensive and difficult for this small rescue with 17 other dogs in foster care to pay for. Would you please consider making a small donation to help defray the cost of caring for Honey? Please visit our site www.georgiaenglishbulldogrescue.org to make your donation
Update: Honey has had her surgery, fortunately the mass was benign. Since recovery she has a whole new leash on life and is enjoying the company of her foster sister. She stil has a little work to do but is progressing well.
