Huff's Story...
Huff is a dear senior dog who comes to life the moment he steps outside into the fresh air and sunshine. Curled up on his bed in the kennel, Huff seems sad and sedentary. Not so! Once outside, this little pooch scurries around sniffing and running circles of delight around you. So precious! Given the condition of his skin, it is clear that Huff did not get the proper care he deserves in his life before the shelter. Denude of the gorgeous reddish brown fur that grows around his head and neck, his lower body seems to have had a strong allergic reaction to fleas, a condition for which he is now being treated. Ever so slowly, his fur is beginning to grow back, and Huff is starting to resemble the handsome boy that he once was. With his endearing personality that responds positively to enthusiasm and kindness, we think he will make a wonderful companion for someone who is not very active, or who wants a lap dog, but one who would be given a daily opportunity to run around outside, too!

Act quickly to adopt Huff. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Huff, a Berkeley Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
