My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

January 16, 2011

Aliyah is doing very well in our home. She has settled in nicely. She still needs some work on letting us know when she has to go outside to “do her business” so we are going to try and bell train her next weekend. Aliyah had her spay surgery and did great. She was a little groggy the first night but she recovered quite nicely. She didn’t try to lick her stitches or anything. She handled it like a trooper.
Aliyah, like most Boxers, do not like the cold weather so we don’t do too much walking. When we have walked and come across other dogs she seems very playful. She does try to get our cat to play with her all the time but the cat is not having any of that! She is very sweet when she meets new people. She’s a very sweet girl and she will make someone a very nice companion.

October 4, 2010 - This is Aliyah, a beautiful fawn female Boxer. Aliyah has had a very tough life, as she has been bred 3 times (that we know of) and been through 3 different homes in her very short life. Because of her many litters she still holds a strong motherly instinct and has become very protective of her pups and home and thinks she needs to be the protector. She is friendly with strangers, however, unsure of dogs when they enter her space. Because of this we feel it is best to place Aliyah into a home with no dogs and with older children so she will receive the attention she needs to be taught how to just “be a dog”. Aliyah will need a gentle but stern person that will allow her some time to figure out her place and to help her understand that she no longer has to be in the "motherly role" of being the protector and care taker. This will also help to socialize her. She knows her basic commands; sit, down, and off. Now that Aliyah is in rescue her only job is to be a happy-go-lucky dog! Please help Aliyah, as she deserves to receive as much love and care as possible
