Ginger's Story...

WHAT A LOVE BUG!! That would be the words that Ginger's foster family would use to describe this exceptionally sweet girl. This adorable lady was picked up as a stray, in a not so nice area, and brought in to a local shelter. The call went out to Rawhideto scoop up this lovable girl, because the shelter staff knew, that this was no't the type of a place, such an extremely friendly girl should be. She was a shelter favorite, and upon meeting Ginger, her foster mom could clearly understand why. She is a little on the thin side right now, but will look even more beautiful when she fills out, as her foster family is filling her up with good, yummy dog food!

Ginger is a shepherd mix, who we believe is approximately 5-6 years old, even though she has some grey on her muzzle. But don't let that fool you!! This sweet gal definitely has the heart of a pup, without all that puppy exuberance, and is ready to please her family!! She doesn't pay much attention to other dogs, and can coexist peacefully with other dogs, as she tolerates her foster family's dog 's playful antics! But in a perfect world, she'd like to have her people all to herself. And she pays no mind, and could care less about cats, one way or the other, as cats do not phase her.

But when it comes to people, what can we say...she loves people!! She gets so excited meeting new people, that her whole body wiggles with excitement. The shelter workers actually described her as a "canine hostess extraordinare", as she loves to "shake paws" with everyone she meets, and often tried to offer gifts as well - rawhide bones or whatever. She actually tried to offer her foster mom one of her own shoes!! So we recommend that she have plenty of her own toys to keep her busy. She is good with children, and is very gentle in taking snacks from her foster family's toddler.

Ginger is up to date on her shots, seems to be housebroken, and will be spayed shortly. She likes to show how smart she is, by showing everyone how she can "Sit", and walks nicely on a leash. If you're interested in a dog you can cuddle up with, and will give you all the love she has in her heart, than Ginger is your girl!! So don't hesitate, and fill out an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ginger, a Warren German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Warren, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Warren.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Warren already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Warren breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Warren paves the way for another one to be saved.
