Bernie's Story...
Thank you for visiting Bernie! By choosing to adopt a dog through C.A.R.E.S., you are not only giving a wonderful dog a forever home, but you are allowing us to rescue another dog on death row. You are also choosing to support a true no-kill rescue organization. Thank you!.

Isn’t he a handsome boy! Bernie was a stray and rescued from Animal Control when his time was up. We think he is a cross between a Bernese Mountain dog and a Labrador Retriever. He will be a large dog when he’s full grown. We estimate his age to be about 9-12 months old .

Bernie is just a happy boy who loves everyone and everything. He would love a playmate or going to dog parks regularly. He is fine with cats and I’m sure children.

He loves the water. He will just lay in it—such a goof! He also enjoys rolling in the grass. He just enjoys life and it is contagious!

We do not know if he is housetrained or crate trained. He appears to have had some training. He walks pretty well on a leash, he knows SIT and he COMEs pretty well. He is continuing his training while in our care.

Bernie is one in a million. Who’s gonna been the lucky family to adopt him?

This dog's adoption fee is $265 (plus tax). This includes being spayed/neutered, current on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations, wormed, microchipped with the HomeAgain microchip, heartworm tested (negative) and medicated during the heartworm season (May-Dec) while in our care, comes with a Gentle Leader headcollar (if we feel it is needed), and is currently learning Basic Obedience commands and good doggie manners.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application. If you'd like to have an application emailed to you, just email us. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bernie, a Wyoming Bernese Mountain Dog/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bernese Mountain Dog/Labrador Retriever for sale in Wyoming, or seeking a Bernese Mountain Dog/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Wyoming.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wyoming already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wyoming breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bernese Mountain Dog/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Bernese Mountain Dog/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wyoming paves the way for another one to be saved.
