Sparrow's Story...

Born on Valentine's Day 2007, Sparrow is the sweetest 8 year old Pit you could meet. He is very smart and incredibly well-trained too. Sparrow is *amazing* walking on leash and rarely pulls on it - and that's only when he sees a squirrel! He is completely house broken and crate trained and knows sit, lay down, paw, off, roll-over, come, and leave it. Sparrow does enjoy going on walks - but since he has a calm disposition as an older dog, he is quite happy to spend his days napping, cuddling, and anything to do with peanut-butter filled Kongs. He is such a submissive and trusting pooch too - one of the first things he does upon meeting new people at home is to roll over on his back for a belly rub (which as an added benefit means no jumping on people)!!

Sparrow is also a 'super-dog' since he knows not to touch people's food - even if he is left alone with food on the coffee table, inches from his face! Sparrow is a unique boy due to the fact that he jumped through a glass patio door as a young puppy. He severed his urethra (the poor guy) and now urinates through a special incision on his underside. Like many older dogs, Sparrow also has hypothyroidism, which requires a pill at meal times. The cost is about $60 for three months. But he is a completely healthy and happy dog, up to date on shots, has a microchip, and is already neutered!

Sparrow is great with people of all ages and sizes - especially with the baby in his previous home. He loves new dogs he meets on his walks, but might do best as an only dog, and would definitely need a cat-free home. Sparrow also is great in a car and loves to sit and stare out the window.

If you are looking for a mature, relaxed gentleman who already is well-trained for a companion, this dog is the perfect match for you.

Check out Sparrow's video on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgduym-jtB8 (What's up with his skin, you say? After this video was taken we discovered through allergy testing that Sparrow is allergic to bayberry trees, dust and mold mites. He has no food allergies which is great. The vet recommended removing all of our throw rugs in our house to reduce his allergies.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sparrow, a Framingham American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Framingham, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Framingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Framingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Framingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Framingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
