My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"SKITTLES"
Dusky Lory
Fostered by Aimee S of Seminole, FL

This is Skittles, a Dusky Lory, or also known as the Banded Lory. Skittles has the orange phase coloring. He loves to play with all kinds of toys and he especially loves bells. He is friendly and loves attention, he steps up easily and readily. He would be good for a family with older children or adults only.

Skittles can be loud when he wants his nectar or attention, but otherwise, he's busy playing! Lories are known for their playfulness and their ability to talk, although Skittles has not shown a propensity to talking yet. Lories do require a specialized diet consisting of a quality nectar along with honey, pollen, fresh fruits and vegetables and some types of flowers. Nectar needs to be changed often to prevent spoiling (at least every 4 hours) and therefore this

species does require some specialized care and dedication, so please keep this in mind if you choose to adopt a Lory. Lories can live to be 25 to 30 years old if their diet is correct. Skittles is a wonderful pet and will bring a lot of joy into your life!
