found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Russell is the dichotomy of a sweet, cuddly, lovable oversized lap dog and a very rough-and-tumble playful boy. He has a gorgeous wire-hair bindle coat and brown eyes that can melt your heart. Weighing in at 40 lbs at around two years, he is a healthy weight for his size and age.
Rambunctious best describes his energy level, so he will need lots of vigorous exercise. He loves playing with other dogs and would do well with an energetic doggie companion. He is so playful he sometimes doesn’t know when to quit! Cats are an unknown, but odds are he would want to play – much to the cat’s displeasure!
Russell is quick both physically and mentally and can “take charge” of situations if not provided consistent rules. Russell should attend obedience school to establish a bond with his new family and immediately set the proper rules and doggie etiquette in his forever home. Being sensitive to scolding and food oriented help make him easily trainable.
Russell is housebroken and crate trained. He generally limits his chewing to his toys or rawhides and shows no aggressive guarding tendencies; however, he will steal another dog’s toy to get the dog to chase and play with him and try to weasel in to get the treat. Though sometimes mouthy, he has good bite inhibition. He walks fairly well on a short leash. He is a moderate barker – giving an alert bark when someone is in the yard, an if-he-goes-I-go-with-him bark when a companion dog barks, and a growl-bark when playing.
His ideal situation: Fenced yard a definite plus (tall-he’s a jumper!), single-family dwelling - no apartment or condo, no young children, knowledgeable owner consistent at enforcing rules and vigorous exercise.
You will not find a more loving and devoted companion.
Russell's adoption fee of $275 includes: vet exam, flea preventative, heartworm test, DHPP (distemper-parvo combo) vaccination, rabies vaccination, bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchip and neutering.
