My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 1/1/11: Hi everyone. Happy New Year! It's me Fiona. In case you forgot, I'm 10 years YOUNG and weigh a svelte 8 lbs. I am being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL.

I bet you don't know that I love to travel. I love to be in the car, and just sleep in the car's sunshine. Foster Mom says I am the most patient, loving, caring 10 year old girl she knows. I love to go for walks, and I can even run now. ( FM says I look like the cutest little bear when I run) When I first started to walk on pavment, my little piggys bled. I wasn't used to walking on sidewalks or blacktop. Now it's fun, and I race around foster Mom's street.

I have always had the potty thing down - no accidents at all! I love all furkids even cats, and my job here is to help FM with all the other furkids. I am rather motherly, and I am concerned when one of the furkids has a problem. I have even been taking care of foster mom who has been sick. I lay by her and just snuggle. I think it helps. Well.....Could I be your special girl? I hope so! xoxoxo Fiona

UPDATED BIO 11/26/2010: Fiona is a sweetheart of a 10 year old girl. She is being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL. She is now down to 8 lbs. She had this to say:

"Hi everyone, it's Fiona! I am now down to 8 lbs because foster mom and foster sister take me for walks. I now bark at the front door to go potty, and I love to play with my foster sisters. ( One is even a cat) I will start to cry if I run through the house and can't find you, but then I sit by the sliding glass doors and watch the frogs and the bugs on the windows until you come home, or you find me. Foster sister Sara will come sit with me if I am missing you, so having other animals in your house would be helpful. I love to sit really close to you, and will nudge your hand if you move it away. Foster Mom lets me sleep in her bed, and I can go all night without going potty.

Foster Mom says even though I am an older girl, I am very young at heart. I make foster mom and dad laugh all the time, cuz I am just silly. Now I am feeling really well, so I love to flirt, and play, and run through the house. I do have a little arthritis, but I use a joint supplement, and I don't limp anymore at all. The whole house has carpet, so I think that helps me play more. Could I be your special girl for the holidays this year? Happy Holidays! xoxo - Fiona"

UPDATED BIO 11/14/2010: Fiona is a sweet 10 year old 9.4 lb little girl who is being fostered in Punta Gorda, FL. Fiona was rescued from an area high-kill shelter. Though she's an older gal, we think Fiona is certainly "adoptable." She is a loving little princess who loves to give kisses and snuggle on the couch. She enjoys going for short walks. It appears she is getting used to longer and longer walks. At first, her little feet bled from walking on the sidewalks. She may have spent her earlier life without much exercise and just quick trips outside to potty. She has a small limp (likely a little arthritis), but we have already seen wonderful improvements with joint supplements.

Fiona is just a doll and has so much love to give. She is 100% housetrained, and loves dogs and cats. She's already had her dental and received a perfect bloodwork and urinalysis report as well! If you think you might be the FURever mommy or daddy Fiona has been waiting her whole life for, please fill out an application. She'll be waiting for you!

INITIAL BIO 11/2/2010: My name is Fiona. I am 10 years old and am currently being fostered in Miami, FL. My Foster Mommy says I am a little pudgy at almost 10 lbs and that I shouldn't weigh more than 8 lbs. Hmmmmpf. Doesn't she know that a girl's gotta eat??

Well, let's see...... I'm up against a lot of youngsters here, so I'm gonna do the best I can to show you that you'd really like to be my FURever mommy or daddy. I've got a whole list just full of things that are going to make you "ooh" and "aah" over my adoptability!

First of all, I'm cute. There, I said it. I'm not ashamed. I am c-u-t-e. Just look at me! Also, I'm well-behaved. I potty outside. I like other furkids. I don't mind cats. I'm a little older, so my hearing isn't what it used to be, but that just means that noises don't bother me too much. I'm not yappy. Next is the way I like to nudge your hand to get you to pet me or rub my tummy when we're sitting on the couch together (my favorite thing to do by the way.... hint hint). I mean, how can you resist!?

Right now Foster Mommy has me on an exercise regimen. She takes me for walks, but I'm not used to it so I'm slooooow. She doesn't mind waiting for me. I'm hoping there's someone out there with my "stop-to-smell-the-roses" attitude who doesn't mind a senior girlie who just wants to share your lap, couch, bed, etc. I'm a loving little princess and want to make you happy. I'll be seeing the Dogtor tomorrow to make sure I'm OK for surgery to clean my toofers. Wish me luck. Once I'm all fixed up, I'll be waiting for you. Remember, it's Fiona, but you can call me Onie for short :)
