King David's Son's Story...
King was brought into the rescue severely emaciated August 2010. He is a registered Thoroughbred who ran on the track earning over $70,000.00 He was found in a faux rescue situation in Jamestown KY in horrible condition. King is now rehabilitated and being conditioned for riding. King is good under saddle and is very athletic and moves nicely. He will need time and proper work to rebuild the lost muscle along his topline, but is otherwise ready for his new home. He goes well both english and western and can be ridden on trails alone or in groups. He is a versatile horse who would be great for a beginner thru advanced rider.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

King David's Son, a Old Fort Thoroughbred was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Thoroughbred for sale in Old Fort, or seeking a Thoroughbred from a breeder in Old Fort.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Old Fort already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Old Fort breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Thoroughbred breeders who help with Thoroughbred rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Old Fort paves the way for another one to be saved.
