NLOL reps met Ruby for the first time when she was running around in a Target parking lot - eek! She seemed to be in good condition, but very skinny under all that husky hair. After exhaustive efforts were made in conjunction with Animal Care and Control to find Ruby's owner, NLOL was able to transfer her into our program.
Ruby is a typical Siberian - she loves to run and is a little bit of an escape artist. She doesn't really know how to drink out of a bowl of water. What she does instead is dip her open mouth into the water and try to bite it! It would seem that she had a drippy faucet for a water source, because she drinks well from running water. Ruby likes to flop over for belly rubs from our volunteers, but could use some obedience work. She has the standard Northern breed aversion to doing what she's told, but she's getting better every day!
Ruby is currently living with NLOL alum Eli and his sister Matty and getting along great with both of them. She has not met cats yet, but we have our doubts - after all, she is a Siberian! To meet or adopt Ruby, please contact us today!
