Lucky Louie's Story...
FOSTER LOCATION: So Cal

Hi Everyone!

My name is Lucky and boy, do I live up to it. While my life has not been always an easy one, I was born under the right stars because now I'm a FurKid!

My Mom says to tell you I'm an adorable, curious, six year-old bichon -- about 14 pounds of happy, cuddly love in a very cute package. She also says I'm a people-watcher! Take me anywhere, and I'm interested in the comings and goings of everyone around me. Up close and personal, I am a world-champion snuggler. At your invitation, I will sit near you (I never jump up!) and wait for an invitation to cuddle. And, if you like to play, well, I'm the guy for you! I love to play "Fetch" and am an expert at tug-of war. I also do an awesome "Bichon Buzz," and will entertain you every evening with my amazing 'bag of tricks'! (Silly Mom - it's not a bag at all - it's just me showing how happy I am!)

My manners are impeccable. I am housebroken, love to ride in the car, am great on walks (I really love them. I put my tail over my back and walk with a bounce in my step, happy to be out in the world on a beautiful day.) I also respond to basic commands.

Dad says I'm VERY polite. While you are having dinner I never, never beg at the table. I also sleep quietly in my own bed at night. Oh -and I'm friendly with other dogs.

As you can see, I'm a wonderful, sweet and very special boy. Now you probably want to know what makes me so special and how I became a FurKid. Well my Mommy and Daddy decided to start a new family - and soon had two little kids and a great big puppy! There really wasn't any room for me - not even any more walks or time with my family. Then my BFK aunties swooped down and brought me into a wonderful foster home. Now I am loved and cared for and waiting -- for you! I really am "Lucky"!

I will do best in a home either with older children or someone I can just dote on - a place where I can be the "only furkid" and can be showered with love and attention. In return, I promise you a lifetime of kisses and snuggles -- and all the devotion you could ever want from a curious and happy companion.

So, do I sound like the boy you're looking for? If I do, come and see me. I'll greet you at the door with a wiggle and kiss, and love in my heart forever!

Hugs and Cuddles from

Loveable Lucky

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky Louie, a La Costa Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in La Costa, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in La Costa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Costa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Costa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Costa paves the way for another one to be saved.
