Schuyler (Sky-ler) is a spayed female Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix approximately 5 years old weighing about 70 pounds. Sky (her nickname) is very sweet and affectionate and loves to cuddle, would like to be petted constantly, and wants to be as close as possible to her human companions.
Sky enjoys going on walks, does well on leash, and loves to have people admire and pet her. This is probably because she was neglected in the past and so she bonds to her new people very quickly and strongly. She will follow her "people" around, just to be close, and is the first one up on the couch for a cuddle. She loves to roll over on her back and have her belly rubbed but most of all would like to sleep on your bed and cuddle close to you. Presently she sleeps on a cushion at the foot of her foster parents’ bed. She can’t get enough of playing fetch with tennis balls and quickly retrieves them and drops them for another toss.
She is protective of her home and family, and will bark when she hears any unusual noises or unfamiliar dogs outside. Due to her protective nature, SKY NEEDS TO BE THE ONLY DOG IN THE HOME. She needs a home where she will be cherished and is not available for use as a watchdog. She is housebroken and healthy. Sky was scheduled for euthanasia at the shelter, but was rescued because of her potential of being a good family pet - and that she has most certainly proven to be.
Schuyler has been evaluated by two veterinarians, is HEALTHY, SPAYED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED and DEFLEAED.
