Birdy's Story...
Happy Holidays! Nothing makes the Holidays more special than puppies! On 10/02/10 nine puppies were born here at Mackenzie’s. Their mother is a Beagle Mix named Layla. (The father is a German Shepherd Mix). Layla is very lucky to be alive as she was abandoned and left in a makeshift kennel. She was full of fleas and was not in the best shape when Mackenzie’s took her in. She has since made a full recovery and has 9 beautiful puppies to show for it. Birdy, Chase, Custard, Dio, Daltry, Opal, Hannah, Jersey, and Shiloh. They all have very sweet and loving temperaments, just like their mother. Please go to to fill out an adoption application. Happy Holidays!

For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Birdy, a Lake Odessa Beagle/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Lake Odessa, or seeking a Beagle/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Lake Odessa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lake Odessa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lake Odessa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Beagle/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lake Odessa paves the way for another one to be saved.
