Mini Mommy and Screech's Story...
Mini was first seen in the parking lot of Jeep dealeship in Silver Spring when she was a tiny kitten and was fed by the dealership employees. They let her roam the office and camp out on their desks during the cold winter. When she appeared this summer with kittens in tow, it became clear she needed to find a permanent home! So she and her 3 three month old kittens were rescued by 3 dedicated CARA volunteers. Since their rescue, two of Mini's kittens have been adopted.

Mini is approximately 2 years old, is very social and loves to sit on your lap and be brushed. She likes to be held with her head resting on your shoulder while you pet her and whisper sweet nothings about what a gorgeous cat she is!

Screech is an adorable, tall, long legged - and very vocal! - black athletic little boy who loves to climb and jump. Laser pointers and scratching posts are his frequent targets. He started out as quite the Mama's Boy, sleeping on her like a pillow, but has sprouted into a speed racer sister chaser! He would love to go to a home along with his mom or one of his sisters.

If you are interested in either of these great kitties, please email us, come to a show, fill out an application!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mini Mommy and Screech, a Laurel Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Laurel, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Laurel.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Laurel already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Laurel breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Laurel paves the way for another one to be saved.
