My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sparkles and Spangles's story is sadly too common. Somebody obtained a pair of pet rabbits believing they were the same sex. However, the birth of four babies proved otherwise. The babies were born about the end of July or beginning of August 2010. Sparkles and Spangles are the girls. They've been altered and are at the shelter, ready to meet their forever families. Bobbles and Bangles are the boys and they're living in foster care. These little bunnies allowed themselves to be petted without skittering away from the touch. We had another bunny at the shelter who was a sociable fellow while Spangles eventually seemed to prefer being on her own. So Sparkles joined William in new quarters and the two quickly became best friends. They snooze together and groom each other. Sparkles is a demure little rabbit who allows her gregarious pal, William to take the lead. They seem a well-matched couple. They'd love to go home together.

Bunnies can be great family members. They can be litter trained and they enjoy playing and exploring. You only need to learn a bit of bunny lore to understand how much these little critters can offer as family members. They have the added advantage of being quiet pets who won't disturb the neighbours.

As a veterinarian said, "Rabbits make intelligent, energetic, and entertaining pets. Their friendly disposition, quiet demeanor, soft fur, and warm eyes have captured the hearts of rabbit owners for years. In general, rabbits are very affectionate and enjoy human interaction as well as the company of other rabbits." Surf the net for more bunny info, for example: House Rabbit Society, and Hopperhome which both have a lot of useful rabbit information.

The video below was made after Sparkles and William moved in together. The video was made through their cage bars since both bunnies would have hopped out to play in the hall (as they're often allowed to do) if their door was opened.
