Bobo's Story...
Bobo (male)
My name is BoBo! I’m a shy, but sweet dachshund mix of some sort. I’m a little guy at around 20 pounds (probably less). I’m probably about a year old and I wandered up to a property in Logansport, La., where they are feeding me and taking care of me until I can find a good home. I’m great around kids, other dogs, and cats don’t seem to bother me. I don't beg, I don't dig, and I don't chew on things...although I would like a bone for Christmas - one of my very own. I am mixed - very tiny – and probably won't grow any taller - of course. I love being outdoors but would prefer a home where I could be an inside dog, since little dogs don’t do well in cold weather. I’m not UTD on my shots and still need to be neutered. Please adopt me - I'll make you a very nice pet! If you’d like to meet me, please call Theresa at 318-697-5649 or 318-210-4651. There is a screening process to adopt me and my adoption fee is a suggested donation to Pet Savers of $30 for their help in rehoming me and to help assure I go to a good home. Once you adopt me, PLEASE get me spayed/neutered to help control the HUGE overpopulation and euthanasia rate in this area. Robinson’s Rescue low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic (Shreveport) offers special low-cost pricing for spaying and neutering. Call 318-861-0101 for your spay/neuter appointment ONLY, not about me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bobo, a Haughton Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
