Duke 2207's Story...
Duke and Duchess are a pair of purebred longhair Dachshunds who were relinquished by their owners. Their previously family lost their home and could not take these sweet dogs with them. Duke is a 3-year old, 14-lb longhair chocolate longhair and Duchess is a 1.5 year old, 13-lb longhair black and tan. Both Duke and Duchess are as sweet as they come. They are housetrained and are happy to snuggle together in their crate at night, although we're sure they'd prefer being in the big bed with their people. Duke and Duchess are very friendly meeting new people and new dogs. They particularly like children, and will go sit our 12-year old grandson's lap at every opportunity. They both love being on your lap, and Duchess snuggles up under your chin in an attempt to get as close as possible. They both love their 'rubbies' and Duchess is particularly fond of fond of belly rubs. Both Duke and Duchess are neutered and spayed, respectively. They are up to date on all their shots and are ready to go to their forever home. Duke and Duchess are truly a bonded pair, and we are looking for a family who will adopt both of these sweet Dachshunds.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke 2207, a San Jose Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in San Jose, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in San Jose.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Jose already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Jose breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Jose paves the way for another one to be saved.
