Joshie's Story...
As you can see from his photos, Joshie has a broken leg. We don't know if he will recover full use of that leg, but don't worry! Joshie gets around just fine, hardly seeming to notice that he only has three useful legs. He loves to go for short walks, and is also a great cuddler. Very frightened when he first arrived at the shelter, he spent several days hiding under his blankets. Now that he's feeling more confident, he'll rush right up to the kennel door and stand on his hind legs, happy to show you what a friendly and resourceful little guy he is! All he needs now is a nice warm bed and a friendly lap to make his world complete.

Act quickly to adopt Joshie. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joshie, a Berkeley Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
