Fiona's Story...
Cassie and her sister Caitlin were saved from a hjgh kill shelter in TN. Their mother Fiona and her 6 pups were surrendered to the shelter when the pups were only 5 weeks old. These girls have the amazing disposition of their mom, Fiona who is the most gentle of girls. She is about 2/3 years old and loving. She was an amazing mom. Fiona is so loving and she loves to be kissed and petted and to have her belly rubbed. She is fine with other dogs but does not interact with them much preferring to wait her turn for some Fiona time. We think she should be an only child. She is short coated like a lab but she has the chow chow head and the purple tongue. She would love to have a stay at home parent and some kids to call her own. We DO NOT KNOW how she is with cats.

We will require an adoption application and we will do a vet check. her pups Cassie looks and acts just like Fiona, to see Cassie is to see Fiona... we will get a photo of Fiona to post soon! We have posted a photo of Cassie in the meantime. Fiona is a great size at about 45 pounds. She has fattened up since she arrived here and her personality is coming out more and more. She is calm and very precious. Cassie photos have been posted for now.

We will do a home visit and a vet check. Fiona will be spayed prior to going to her new home. Her adoption fee is $350.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Ridgefield Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow for sale in Ridgefield, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Ridgefield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ridgefield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ridgefield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ridgefield paves the way for another one to be saved.
